Button Hole Golf Course

Providence, Rhode Island

Built on what was once a scarred sand pit, Button Hole Golf Course is a nationally acclaimed nine-hole, par three course. The course is a fantastic outlet for the area’s youth, providing facilities and programs that develop strong character, teach life values and champion success through the game of golf. The primary goals of the 2013 renovation were to make the course completely accessible for the disabled while improving course playability and conditioning. Some of the renovation projects included enlarging the tees, re-building the sand bunkers, moderating course slopes, rebuilding the short game practice area and rebuilding the practice facility tee area. The course re-opened in April, 2014.

Button Hole Golf Course Providence, Rhode Island

Hole 1

Button Hole was created as a short course and practice facility to serve kids in the Providence area. The renovation in 2013 focused on making the course more playable and accessible for physically challenged golfers. The first, a short downhill hole, achieves this with a mellow start.

Hole 2

The Button Hole property is fairly compact, with the narrow 2nd hole wedged between the practice range and a wetland. Accuracy is key and the green is easily accessed from the front. The flags in the background are part of the chipping green.

Hole 8

The eighth hole at Button Hole is the most picturesque on the course. The back tee sits high on the hillside, showcasing a panoramic view of the entire property while the front tee reveals a ground level look at the challenging hole.
